Veneers can take a few weeks from start to finish to complete. We start by consulting with you to decide if veneers are the best choice for you. Our dentists may also recommend alternative treatments if you are better suited for them. If you choose to have veneers placed, preparations begin with the filing down of the front of the tooth. This roughens the surface and removes enamel, so the final veneer does not add extra bulk to the smile.
Impressions are made and sent to an outside ceramist with instructions for the final color, size, and shape of the finished veneer to ensure a natural appearance when completed. Patients may have a temporary veneer bonded onto the tooth until the final one arrives within a few weeks. The final restoration is then bonded directly onto the tooth, and patients can enjoy the coverage of their veneers for many, many years!
Veneers should be treated just like natural teeth with daily brushing and flossing.
